I recently had the pleasure of photographing Xena, a German Shepherd, and Connie, a Warmblood x Arabian. The photo session took place at the family property, where we began taking portrait photos of Xena in the warm afternoon sun. Xena was an excellent model, posing for the camera with ease, and her striking features and deep brown eyes made for some stunning shots.
After capturing some beautiful portraits of Xena, we moved on to action images, which really showcased her athleticism and energy. She ran and jumped, tongue lolling out of her mouth, with the golden sun highlighting her fur and making her look even more majestic. It was clear that Xena loved being in front of the camera, and I enjoyed capturing her playful and energetic spirit.
Next, it was time to focus on Connie. We made our way down to the grass arena to take some photos with the family. The arena was a perfect backdrop for Connie, with its beautiful green grass and charming wooden fencing. Connie was well-behaved and patient, standing still for her portraits alongside her family.
As the afternoon went on, we moved to the front lawn to take more family images. I captured some lovely images of owner Shanna and partner Matt with both Xena and Connie, and it was clear how much they loved their four-legged friends. Xena snuck in a few kisses too!
Finally, we finished up with some more portraits of Xena, who by this point was quite the seasoned model. She posed with confidence and grace, and I was able to capture some truly stunning images that I knew Shanna would treasure forever.
Overall, the photo session was a joy to photograph, and I was thrilled with the results. Xena and Connie were both such photogenic and charismatic models, and the family was a pleasure to work with. It was clear how much they loved and cared for these animals, and I felt honoured to be able to capture their beauty and spirit in photographs. Shanna and Matt selected the 20 digital file package alongside an acrylic block of their favourite image.
