There’s something so heart-warming about photographing a young puppy and their loving humans. At just 16-week-old, Winnie the German Shepherd absolutely stole the show during her photo session at Lakes Edge Park in The Ponds.
Despite her young age, Winnie came into the session with an impressive foundation of training and was such a superstar in front of the camera. We started the afternoon with some solo portraits in the bushland, capturing her curious puppy eyes and sweet personality. From there, we moved to the nearby concrete path for more portraits before bringing in her mum Rachel, and then later Brendan, for some lovely family moments.
As the sun began to dip lower in the sky, we took advantage of the stunning golden light to shoot on the wooden bridge, one of the prettiest spots in the park. The glow added a magical touch to their portraits. But, the highlight of the session was still to come. We ended with a series of action images on the grass lawn, followed by some stunning silhouette images as the sky lit up with colour and finishing with serene waterside portraits on the dock.
Rachel and Brendan selected a beautiful story art piece featuring five of their favourite images, as well as the 20 digital file collection to remember this special stage of Winnie’s puppyhood forever.
These are the sessions I adore most, combining the energy of a young puppy, the love of a family and the beauty of golden hour. Thanks, Rachel, Brendan and Winnie for such a joyful afternoon.
