Volunteer-run charities rely on donations and fund-raising events to survive, and Rescue Hub is no different. As well as attending events such as the Dog Lovers Show and Dogs in the Park, Rescue Hub sell merchandise through their online store to help cover costs such as vet bills, micro chipping and transport to name a few.
Each year I help Rescue Hub photograph, edit, design and print their annual fund-raising calendar. In previous years, we used images I captured of dogs in Rescue Hub's care, but this year we wanted to feature dogs who had already been adopted and include their rescue story. To help raise funds we included a reduced price photo session fee, which was donated directly to Rescue Hub to help cover the printing costs. I volunteered my time travelling and photographing 11 rescue dogs over the course of a few weeks, travelling as far as the Central Coast all the way down to Caringbah. It was so fun seeing some familiar faces happy and healthy, and meeting new ones. The sessions fees alone raised just over $900 for Rescue Hub, before the calendars were even printed!
Calendars have now been printed and are available for purchase through the Rescue Hub website by going to www.rescuehub.com.au/shop. 100% of calendar sales goes directly to saving even more dogs from death row, so grab your copy before they sell out!
