As a dog photographer, one of the most important things I want my clients to know is that the photo session should be a fun and relaxed experience for both you and your furry friend. The last thing we want is for anyone to feel stressed or uncomfortable, as this will show in the final images.
So, here are a few things I wish all photography clients know about before their photo session.
1. When it comes to your dog's training, don't worry about it too much. I understand that not all dogs are perfectly trained, and that's okay! I'll work with your dog's unique personality and behaviour to capture the best images possible. It's important to remember that the goal is to capture the true essence of your dog, not to make them look like a professional show dog.
2. Getting in a few photos doesn't have to be scary. I used to hate being in photos, but now the images of me with my dogs are my most treasured images of all time. It's important to remember that you don't have to show anyone these images if you don't want to, and you can let me know if you'd prefer I never share your images on my social media channels too. Trust me, I'll make sure you and your dog look and feel comfortable throughout the session.
3. It's important to remember that the photo session should be tailored to your dog's pace. They're the star of the show, and we want to make sure they're comfortable and happy throughout the session. We'll take breaks when needed and make sure your dog is never pushed beyond their limits.
In conclusion, the key to a successful dog photo session is to relax and have fun. Trust me and my process. Remember, the goal is to capture the true essence of your furry friend, not to make them look like a professional show dog. With the right approach, you'll end up with beautiful, candid images that truly capture the unique personality of your beloved dog.
