The Holmes's family photo session at home

1 April, 2025

After days of heavy rain, the skies finally cleared for a beautiful Winter afternoon spent at a peaceful family property in Cattai. I had the pleasure of photographing Eden, Cody and Harli with their three much-loved ponies Shiloh, Kermit and Tony.

Shiloh, the 25-year-old Miniature Pony cross, is completely blind but full of trust and calm energy. Kermit, a 20-year-old Welsh Pony, and Tony, the youngest at 8, completed the trio with their sweet personalities and close bonds with the kids. Each pony clearly holds a special place in the family, and it was a joy to capture their connection.

We took photos in the late afternoon light, which gave everything a soft golden glow, perfect for showcasing the ponies and the kids just being themselves. From gentle hugs to playful moments, the session was filled with love and laughter.

Tana, the kids’ mum, chose the 10 digital file package along with a 5" x 7" acrylic block featuring one of her favourite images as part of their Horse of the Season session win.

These sessions are always a reminder of the deep bond children can have with their ponies, and how timeless those memories are when preserved through photos.
