It's no secret my dogs Archie and Chico are dog reactive. Put simply, they were no properly socialised with other dogs before I adopted them and now are quite fearful of other dogs. I take them to parks and on walks at specific times of the day just to avoid other dogs and their owners who insist on having their dogs off lead because "they are friendly!". Well, not all dogs are friendly and want to be run at from across an oval...
So, when I heard of SniffSpace, I was over the moon! It is an Australia-wide website where you can book other people's secure backyards by the hour and let your dog have a run, sniff, swim or play without worrying about other dogs or people approaching. For reactive dog owners such as myself, it's such a peace of mind to take my dogs somewhere where they can run to their hearts content safely. We have been to a few SniffSpaces since the website first started, and my boys always come home relaxed, tired and mentally fulfilled.
