I had the pleasure of meeting Pam, owner of Seaham Grange Stud, at the
Arabian State Titles where I first photographed her Arabian Warmblood's
competing in the dressage competition of the show. Although it was a very hot
Spring day all three horses, ESK Rozie, Deveron Maddamoizelle and ESK Versace,
performed beautifully and all came away with wins from their classes.
A month later I was invited to Seaham Grange Stud to photograph Pam with her
horses at the stunning property. Previously owned by a polo rider, the property
is complete with pastures, a big airy stable and polo field sized paddock.
The late afternoon light was just perfect which made for some stunning images.
The photo session started with portrait-style images of each horse then moved
into the large paddock for some ridden dressage shots with a difference. Although
it is nice to photograph a horse on the arena, paddock shots add that extra
colour kick of green that sand can never provide.
