Pippa's photo session at Rouse Hill Regional Park

I have known Pippa and her pet parent Olivia for some years now, and when I needed to capture some images for my Embark photography challenges I knew I need to ask them. Pippa is a rescue dog like my boys Chico and Archie, and Olivia has put in so much training and work which has really payed off. Pippa was a posing superstar!

Rouse Hill Regional Park is not a new park to me, I have been there many times for photo sessions. But, I wanted to try some new places in the park and didn't want the pressure or stress of trying it during a normal photo session. Plus, I had some images in mind for upcoming Embark challenges and I wanted to play around and experiment a bit.

We first began taking photos along the bush tracks at the bottom of the park. I found some nice long logs in the long grass which we propped up and had Pippa jumped over. Pippa is trained to compete in agility, so she had no problem flying over the log again and again. We did give her a few breaks in between the runs, where I asked Olivia to pose Pippa first among the long grass then on a larger log close by which Pippa nailed of course.

After I had captured all the jumping images I needed, we continued along the bush tracks and came out near the play equipment where I found some interesting rocks for Pippa to pose on. Once again, she nailed it and stood perfectly still for some portraits.

We then took a break and walked up to the top part of the park, where I had never noticed a perfect spot for some silhouette images. This is why I love visiting parks with a dog model, I can walk a different route and find some hidden gems I never considered before. We ended the session with some photos of Pippa and Olivia together as well as Pippa posing and running across the path.

I had so much fun at this session, trying out some new spots in a park I have been to so many times before. It really gets the creative juices flowing that's for sure.
