I recently had the pleasure of taking a short holiday with my two furry friends, Chico and Archie, and my friend Bianca to Lake Innes near Port Macquarie. The dogs and I left home on Wednesday, and stayed with Bianca (who is a Mid North Coast local) at an AirBnB on a beautiful property with lots of secure yards, returning home on Sunday afternoon.
One of the best things about this holiday was the lack of phone and internet reception at our AirBnB. This forced me to disconnect and relax, which was exactly what I needed. For the first few days, we spent most of our time exploring the property and relaxing in the beautiful surroundings. It was pure bliss!
On Friday night, we decided to visit Port Macquarie itself and enjoyed a nice walk along the shoreline, followed by some delicious fish and chips for dinner. Unfortunately, Saturday's plans to visit Bianca's parents' property were washed out by the rain, so we spent another day relaxing at the AirBnB, eating way too much junk food and watching movies.
Fortunately, Sunday was sunny, and we made the most of it by exploring the property one last time before heading home. It was a short holiday, but the dogs had a lot of fun, and we all wished it could have lasted longer.
Overall, this holiday was a much-needed break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The stunning natural surroundings, lack of internet and phone reception, and the company of my furry and non-furry friends made for a truly memorable experience. I highly recommend taking a break in Lake Innes or on the Mid North Coast in general, especially if you're looking for a relaxing getaway with your furry friends.
Here are some photos of our time away.
