I have only ever met one Japanese Spitz in the past for a photo session, and I was so excited to see Mochi's pet parents book her into a photo session. Spitz are little pocket rockets, with lots of personality and spunk. Mochi was an absolute superstar for her session, and loved to show me all of her tricks.
Our photo session was held at Fagan Park, one of my favourite locations for a session. Since we had a weekday booking, the park was very empty besides a few locals walking around enjoying the view. The weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cold, just like a typical September afternoon.
We began our session with images of Mochi by herself, posing in the afternoon sunshine like she was born for it. In the client questionnaire Mochi's pet parents expressed they would love to be in the images too, which I love so much. We then moved to some family images, before making our way towards the lake in the middle of the park.
Mochi was very interested in the ducks and geese wandering around, luckily they walked behind me and Mochi was looking straight at the camera ears up for some time. No need for my noises! Along the banks of the lake are timber seats, which is where I captured more family images.
We then moved into the Japanese garden, fitting since Mochi is a Japanese Spitz. The rocks and foliage made for some lovely images, and once again I began with individual photos of Mochi followed by some family shots.
We ended the session with running action shots. I tend to leave these at the end because an exhausted dog isn't too keen on sitting still and posing after using lots of energy. We popped my long lead on the end of Mochi's for a huge 8m lead, which is plenty of length for Mochi to run to her hearts content safely.
During our viewing and ordering appointment Mochi's pet parents decided to go with my largest digital file package which included all final images edited, as well as an 11" x 14" framed print of their favourite family photo.
