This is the second time I have photographed Maggie and Chase, and, as before, they were the perfect models. We once again met at Rouse Hill Regional Park, but this time to help me photograph for a specific photography challenge called Embark that I am doing this year. I wanted to try out some jumping images of them along the bush tracks, as well as some action silhouette images. Both Maggie and Chase a flyball superstars, so running and jumping was right up their alley.
We had an afternoon of both full and part sun, which made it a bit tricky when photographing in the shade of the trees. But thankfully both dogs are so well behaved and adapted to our changes without a worry.
We began with the log jumping and running images at the bottom of the park, and took regular breaks as we also had an unusually warm Winter's day for our session. During these breaks I took a few posed images of both Maggie and Chase on the surrounding fallen logs. After about an hour of jumping, running and resting, we moved to the top of the park for the silhouette images. Again Maggie and Chase were the perfect models, they sat, ran and jumped exactly as I needed them too.
Below are some of my favourite images from our afternoon. They are dog models for sure, wouldn't you agree?
