Earlier this year I had a wonderful afternoon at Castle Hill Heritage Park, capturing moments with three lovable Labradors: Loki, Luna, and Masie. Each of these dogs brought something special to the session. Loki, the eldest at 5 years old, is a dedicated service dog with a calm and composed demeanour. Luna, at 18 months, was full of youthful energy, always ready to play and explore. And then there’s Masie, the 6-month-old puppy, who was curious and eager to experience everything around her.
We started the session with some posed portraits of each dog individually, before capturing their first group portrait. all three dogs were amazing to pose, even young Masie, and the group image took no time at all. I then changed lens and captured individual photos of the dogs again with a wider angle, showing more of the scenery. Now that the dogs were settled into the location, we got the whole family together including the pet parents for a group shot.
As the sun began to set, we couldn’t have asked for a better time of day—the light was golden and warm, adding a beautiful touch to the photos.
Towards the end of the session, we decided to have some fun with action shots. The dogs were in their element, running around and enjoying the open space. It was a joy to capture their playful spirits in motion, and these images turned out to be some of my favourites.
Kristin had taken advantage of my Black Friday special offer, which included the session, a $100 product credit and an 11" x 14" glassless print. She also chose to purchase my twenty digital file package along with the print. It’s always rewarding to see clients invest in preserving these special moments.
The session with Loki, Luna, and Masie was a true pleasure, and I’m excited to share these photos with Kristin. It’s days like this that remind me why I love what I do—capturing the bond between pets and their families in such a beautiful setting.
