There’s something truly special about photographing horses, especially when they’re as majestic and kind-hearted as Batman, an 11-year-old Clydesdale cross. I had the pleasure of spending a warm summer afternoon with Batman and his lovely human, Linda, at their peaceful agistment property in Arcadia.
From the moment I arrived, it was clear that Batman lives up to his name, strong and striking in stature but with a gentle, affectionate soul. He was calm, curious, and a total professional in front of the camera.
We made the most of the golden summer light, starting the session with with a black background portrait then venturing out to capture natural light portraits around the property. There was a magical warmth to the afternoon that wrapped everything in a soft glow.
Linda selected a beautiful collection to remember the day including two 20" x 30" framed wall art pieces, two 8" x 10" loose prints and a ten digital file package. These pieces will not only preserve their bond but become heirlooms that celebrate the love between a horse and his person.
Sessions like these remind me how deep the connection between horse and human can be. It’s always an honour to capture that bond and turn it into lasting memories.
