This blog post is in memory of Jemma.
I met Jemma the English Springer Spaniel and her pet parent Amy earlier this year for a photo session at Fagan Park. Amy mentioned that Jemma's vets had found Lymphoma earlier in the year but after some surgeries all was looking good. She wanted to get some photos of Jemma while she was looking her best, and I am so glad that we had our wonderful afternoon at Fagan Park.
Being a weekday afternoon meant we had almost all of the park to ourselves. The sun was shining and Jemma had the afternoon of her life. Amy mentioned she can be a little wary of strangers and other dogs, so I made sure to take our session slowly and I was ready to catch any off lead dogs (which there were none yay!).
We spent the afternoon exploring the various gardens and taking photos at various locations throughout the park. Amy expressed she wanted to be in some images (which I love!), so we captured some candid and formal portraits of her with Jemma.
During our viewing and ordering appointment Amy selected three wall art pieces of herself with Jemma, which were lovingly hand-made in Brisbane and delivered to her home just a few weeks later.
Just over 2 months ago I read a heart-breaking post on Jemma's Instagram account that the cancer had come back and was found in her spleen. During out photo session it was so evident how much Amy loved Jemma, and I am honoured to have captured images Amy can cherish forever.
