There is nothing quite like finishing year 12 and celebrating your formal evening with your equine best friend.
I was contacted by Nicole in regards to booking a last minute session with her daughter Georgie and mare Joy. Before Georgie headed off to the formal venue, Georgie wanted images of her with Joy in their front garden, as well as some family images in front of her father's vintage car. The family opted to go with the halter-less look on Joy, and I quickly placed the specially made photo halter on her. This is a light yet heavy duty rope halter that is very easy to remove in Photoshop, which I love as it's such a natural look.
It was an unusually hot September afternoon, and we had about 30 minutes to capture the images before it was time for Georgie and her father to drive off to the venue. Luckily I was prepared, and brought along all my objects and tricks to help get Joy's ears forward as quick as possible. Joy caught on quick, and by the end of the 30 minutes she started to become bored with my tricks. It was all hands on deck as we threw sticks, hats, leaves and my pom pom, finally getting the last image before it was family portrait time.
Below are just some of the images purchased by the family. They opted to go with my twenty digital file package, which is a wonderful way to keep those special memories for many years to come.
