Emily reached out to me almost two years before her wedding date to book me in for a special photo session with her and her horse Lord Reginald (aka Reggie) to commence shortly after the wedding ceremony itself. Emily had always dreamed of capturing photos of herself and Reggie cantering down the beach, dress flowing in the wind and a huge smile on her face. And, we captured that and so much more.
Emily has owned Reggie since he was only 6 months of age, and at 12 years of age now you can really tell the love and connection they both have. They had both done dressage and show jumping back in the day, but now Reggie is "a pull out of the paddock and go for a plod" kind of horse, as described by Emily. Reggie loves the beach, hence why Emily wanted a photo of the both of them cantering down Warrain Beach, but being a bit of a plodder Emily was worried I may need to do a bit of Photoshop magic. But, even though he had been up since 6am and our session was at 3pm, he gave us not one but two amazing canters! Emily was smiling from ear to ear.
Once we nailed that shot, I turned my focus on getting as much variety as I could quickly. The wind was terrible that day, and everyone was keen to celebrate the wedding into the evening. I quickly and efficiently posed Emily through a variety of my poses, and included her new husband Nick and mother in a few images too.
As the hour mark came, it was time to say goodbye to the beach and for everyone to head home. Two weeks after our session we had our online viewing and ordering appointment, where Emily and Nick saw the images for the first time. They loved them all, and opted to have 43 of their favourites printed into a custom photo album as well as one 20" x 30" framed print.
