This year was the first time I attended the Canberra Royal, and I had an absolute ball. Everyone was so lovely and nice to talk to, which makes each day very enjoyable.
Seeing as I am from North Western Sydney I stayed with a friend of mine, who some of you know as Susie from Delsharla Pet Pawtraits. We still has about an hours drive each way to and from the show but we did save on accommodation and we had the freedom to use Susie's large wagon to transport all our gear in. The road were clear most of the way so the trips flew by quite quickly.
Over the course of the show we were very lucky weather wise. I heard off
a few people that last year the weather we terrible and made it very
hard for judges to make their selections in the pouring rain. Only one
day of the show saw a downpour which only lasted about 10 minutes, although most days we hard thunderstorms on the horizon.
The showground itself was very well maintained with lush green grass and each ring had pot plant outlines which makes for much nicer photo than horrid bunting. The old grandstand was lovely and with the ferris wheel behind it made it look like an image straight from a postcard.
Here is a selection of images from the show for you to enjoy. Congratulations to everyone who attended, you all looked very smart and I hope you all enjoyed yourself. Looking forward to seeing you all next year!
