Alexa with Soda Pop and Spirit at Arcadia Pony Club

At the end of last year, I met Alexa and her ponies Soda Pop and Spirit for a photo session booked by Alexa's mum Karen. We had so much fun that afternoon, many laughs were had and we even managed to sneak in a photo with people, ponies and a puppy! All I needed was a few seconds of ears forward, a sitting dog and a smile, and our first take was a success!

When our photo session came to an end, Karen asked me if I was going to be at Sydney Royal for 2022 and if I could photograph Alexa and Soda Pop. It was going to be their first ever Sydney Royal, and of course I said yes.

Skip forward to a few weeks ago, and this cute team came second in their Open Pony class, woohoo! The cheer from the grandstand said it all really, and the smile could not be wiped off Alexa's face.

I feel so lucky to be able to meet people and their beloved ponies for fun photo sessions, them seeing the same combination competing in the ring with the same smiles. That's what it's all about, having fun.
